Harris & Willow Meets Brick & Mortar

The INFP in me is a dreamer. Sometimes I have to remind myself to think big enough to dream but small enough to act.

I live in a great community in West Michigan. I see so much opportunity here and I can’t help but desire to be a part of it. It’s something I can’t shake and it’s a vision I’ve had for months now: a retail shop in West Michigan. There are wonderful parks, restaurants, shops, and beaches in Muskegon. We just need more of them! I believe having another place to shop clothing, home decor, and gifts would be a great asset to the community.

One of the things I learned when co-owning First & Vine is the incredible power that a single business holds. A successful business is invaluable to its city, and I believe the best ones are those that give back to the community in which they thrive (and beyond). My hope in pursuing a brick and mortar shop is to do just that: give back. From smaller gestures (like hosting local goods and supporting social justice projects) to more ambitious movements (like empowering others through employment and product development) this little dreamer has big plans.

There’s an awesome program that offers a grant which could help me begin this process. As of last night, they’re accepting votes. To help me kickstart this mega vision, I’d love one single vote from you.

Much love!
